Both Oscar Gavelle and Lily Cattlin were back in record-breaking form at the weekend each breaking the junior long course club record in the 1500m freestyle in the open and female categories respectively.

Oscar was first shine in Manchester acheiving a time of 17:10.08 winning the gold medal in the process. His time knocks a whopping 12 seconds off the record previously held by Luke Booth set in February 2020.

Lily then went on to break a much newer record, one held by Amelia Stratford for only two months. 2024 will no doubt continue to be a tussle between Lily and Amelia to keep hold of this record. Lily’s new time is 19:03.47 almost 6 seconds faster than the previous record.
