Five more records smashed by our Club Captains!

The Stockport Metro Open meet last weekend was the last opportunity for our swimmers to shine before next month’s Winter Nationals and our Club Captains were again in record-breaking form.

Luke Booth started the weekend with a time of 8:11.86 in the 800m Freestyle breaking George Russell’s short course record from November 2015.  Luke then showed his mettle in the 400m IM with a time of 4:32.85 breaking a record that had been held by Joe Roebuck for 22 years.  He finished the weekend breaking Dale Waterhouse’s record from November 2009 with a time of 1:53.02 in the 200m freestyle, obtaining another National qualification in the process.

Mollie Fisher added to the record tally breaking two of her own records.  She knocked a huge 36 seconds from the 1500m freestyle time she had previously set in January this year with a time of 17:14.61.  She also broke the 200m freestyle record that she had held for three years with an improved time of 2:05.70.

Well done again to both our captains!

Club Captains break records at NERs!

Our Club Captains broke three club records between them at the North East Regional Short Course Championships last weekend.

On Saturday, Luke Booth completed the 400m freestyle with a time of 3:56.13 beating George Russell’s record from November 2014. He won a bronze medal in the final later that day.

On Sunday, Luke followed that up with a time of 15:39.86 beating another of George Russell’s records from December 2015.  Luke won a gold medal in the process.

Our female Club Captain, Mollie Fisher competed in the final of 400m freestyle later that day with a time of 4:22.59 breaking her own record from November 2019. A bronze medal was her reward.

Well done to both our captains!
