Male Club Captain Luke Booth again breaks his own long course record for the 800m freestyle.
His previous time was 8:37.30 and he finished his most recent swim at the Yorkshire Championships in Sheffield in a time of 8:34.21, picking up the gold medal along the way.
Well done Luke.

Oliver (Ollie) Davis-Tootill pulled out a fantastic swim in the 100m backstroke at the Yorkshire Championships last weekend with a time of 1:03.07. Not only did this beat his previous PB set just last month by 3 seconds, it also broke a club record that has stood for almost 10 years. This junior boys record was previously held by Robert Pearson with a time of 1:03.31 set in May 2013.
Many congratulations to Ollie for achieving his first club record – let’s hope it’s the first of many.

Club Captain Mollie Fisher flies to the UAE this week and will represent Team England in the Middle Eastern Championships. Mollie will spend the week in Dubai starting with three days training followed by three days of competition. She is part of a 75-strong national team taking part who have been selected as a result of their inclusion in the Diploma in Sporting Excellence (DiSE). Mollie is working towards DiSE through Loughborough College. It is a two year BTEC course which she is completing alongside her A-Levels. Mollie has chosen to compete in 7 events in Dubai and will be the first Rotherham Metro swimmer in several years to represent her country. The training and competition takes place at the Hamdan Sports Complex (Hamdan Sports Complex (hamdansc.com)) which is an impressive world class facility. The first weekend of the Yorkshire Championships have realised much success for the club as a whole. Yet again, our Club Captains have broken their own records. Mollie Fisher started the weekend setting a time of 4:30.63 breaking a record she set this time last year. Luke Booth quickly followed the same day with a time of 4:07.67 breaking a time he had previously set in May. Congratulations to both swimmers!
