Luke Booth continued his record-breaking form at Ponds Forge yesterday. This week sees some of our swimmers take to the water in the Aquatics GB Summer Championships. Luke represented the club in the Open 800m Freestyle event and finished with a time of 8:24.20, knocking over a second of a time he had set previously. Well done to Luke and good luck to all those still to swim.

Oscar Gavelle and Lily Cattlin took part in the Yorkshire and Regional Open Water Championships in Sale, Greater Manchester at the weekend. Each swam the 3000m in the boys and girls categories respectively.

They each achieved new club records in the process; Oscar beating his own record from last year setting a time of 35 min 28 sec. Lily set a new record as she is the first Metro girl to have taken part in such an event and her time was 39 min 12 sec.

Both came 2nd place in their respective age groups and proudly took home silver medals.

Well done to both swimmers for this exceptional achievement!
